In 1943 Jerry DeNooyer, Sr., founded DeNooyer Brothers Inc. in Kalamazoo, Michigan on “honesty, integrity, and giving a dollars worth for every dollar spent”. The “Red Carpet” treatment, a policy that treated every customer as if they were “royalty”, was attributed for the company’s great success. Treating customers fairly was key, but Jerry also believed treating his employees just as fairly, was crucial. Customers directly benefited from a happy and stable employee from his experience and knowledge. To Jerry, this made an employee the biggest asset a company possessed. After 20 successful years, Jerry placed the responsibility of continuing his policies to his sons, Gerald, Lee, and James. It was in 1972 when James DeNooyer, Sr. expanded upon these values and opened a store on the east coast. Jim purchased DeNooyer Chevrolet in Colonie, NY and built it on respect not only for his customers, but his employees and the community as well. It was a direct result of the “The Golden Rule” that earned DeNooyer Chevrolet the respect from the surrounding community and the automotive industry.
Today, James’ three sons, James Jr., Tom, and Joel, carry on the traditions their grandfather, Jerry, instated over 60 years ago. With hard work and determination the DeNooyer Family strives for “100% satisfaction, for 100% of their customers, 100% of the time”.
Throughout the years much has changed. Many of the changes included: customers’ wants and needs, the selling process, and the automotive industry in general. The one thing that has not is the Moral Code of doing business with the DeNooyer Family. As the DeNooyer Family looks into the future, they invite you to come in and get the “Red Carpet” treatment that remains true even today.
In an age when so many cars are designed to appeal to the many, Our Performance Division designs for the few. They are crafted for an exclusive club of motoring enthusiasts who share the spirit of the open road, who understand and feel the passion, and for whom assertive style blended with extreme performance are inherent values.
